Anyone done homebased NVQ

Post  Jellybean on Sat Jul 11, 2009 12:53 am

I have got someone from a local college coming out to see me on monday about the childcare course nvq 3, apparently they now do a homebased one where they come out and assess you in your own home has anyone else done this as the whole thing with having to give up every saturday for the next 6 months put me off doing it, now this one sounds ideal just hope its not too good to be true she said it is all fully funded so i don't have to pay anything. Very Happy

hi,

I have just completed my CCLD Level 3 from home through Macclesfield college.
My college tutor/assesor came to my home every 4/6 weeks and did some observations of me with the children she left me work to do and some of it was completed through discussion which was good.
It is a good idea i wanted to do a course but unfortunately was unable to go to college once a week on a thursday night. Once you complete the course you are qualified to go into a primary school as a teaching assistant, playworker, pre school assistant, nursery nurse it opens the doors to other avenues you could do once you have decided you want to finish being a childminder.
Also your local Sure Start or Children's Information Service have funding available for you to do the course.

Good Luck!!!
