Do you provide evening meals
Hi Guys
Just wondered if anybody provides evening meals for mindees. If you do what kinds of meals do you do for them and also what do you charge for them.
I have a child with me who stays until around 5:15 and mum says she does not really eat her evening meal as she is sometimes too tired to eat by the time mum has cooked it so wondered if i should offer to do her a cooked meal in the evenings

Re: Do you provide evening meals
Hi I have provided tea in the past but dont at the moment. I had a few kids that parents wanted to eat together in the evening so when i had new starters i said I would do tea not a problem but it would be something simpler than lunchtime meals, also if i wasnt looking afte anyone else at the time then they would eat by themselves with me supervising as we eat as a family in the evening as all my kids go at around 5.20. They all said they would sort out tea. It works out great as still same money as i dont charge extra for meals but it means instead of messing about all evening cooking i can just prepare our tea so its ready just for around 6 when everyone has gone and i have tidied up.
If anyone really needed me to do tea i would but we have snack at 10.30 lunch at 12/12.30 then snack at 3.30 so if i provide tea also i think i would need to put my prices up to cover it.
I cook things like
mild curry
Sausage casserole
corned beef hash
fish pie
cottage pie
pasta bake
toad in the hole
lasagne
And i always serve veg with lunch.
I also always have some frozen yorkshires in and some beans just incase i am stuck for time then can do beans on toast or y,pudding veg and gravy for emergency lunch.
I do try to cook a few meals each weekend and freeze them in the foil trays then you just need to take out night before when you know how many you feeding next day and its all sorted.

Re: Do you provide evening meals
I have never done evening meals, but then again most of my mindees are finished before 5:00 so they will go home and have theirs.
but i have done meals if i have children for longer but that has only happened a handful of times
