failed my first aid course today (UPDATED RESULT)

I am absolutely gutted having spent my last 2 saturdays doing a first aid course only for the little hitler telling me that i had failed before i even did the multiple choice exam.

just before we had aternoon break, he asked me to show him how to do cpr on a child dummy so i did and i did the following
Danger
Response
Call for help
Lifted the airway
5 rescue breaths
30 compressions 1 hand

Then another 2 cycles of 2 breaths and 30 compressions 1 hand
Pretended to call for ambulance
Carried on cpr 2 breaths 30 compressions for a further 5 minutes until i was told to stop and have break

Came back after break and asked if i did ok, he said no you did not hold the top of the head when doing rescue breaths!!!!.
I know i should have but air was going into the dummy's lungs as i was watching the chest rise each time i did it.

I said well can you stay back with me for 10 minutes afterwards and i will do it again he said " no i am going to have to fail you and you will have to come back and repeat the whole second day again!!!
The course is supposed to be until 4:30 but he's letting finishing up at 4:10 so he could have just done it after everyone went.

He said to still stay for the multiple choice i said no as i am going to go home as i have to do the whole second day again including the multiple choice he said no i want you to stay and can i go and sit down now i said i need this as my cert runs out next month and i won't be able to work and he said it is not his problem !!. I was not raising my voice just trying to persudade him he wouldn't have any of it so i sat through another 20 minute refresher then left as i was nearly in tears. When i left his helper came out to see me and said you can get back onto the second day of the course again in a few weeks.
The thing is i can't as i have the next 6 saturdays doing DHC 3 workshops and my first aid cert runs out next month.

I don't know what to do i have done the first aid course before and passed with 100% on the multiple choice exam.

Firstly i would put a complaint in about the person taking the class!! You ae not a child in school!!!
Secondly as long as you ae booked on a course it should be ok my first aid ran out once and i didnt do it for almost 3 months as they wanted to send me around 5 miles away till 6.30-9 for several weeks i couldnt do as didnt finish work till 6 and had childcare to sort for my own kids by the time i would have picked them up and got back home again would have been 10 oclock and was school nights. I had to wait til they put some courses on closer to me so i could do, they kept saying i had to get booked on one, i told them to put a class on near me and i would but they didnt have any sorted. I got on the first one close to me that i could and nothing was said about the gap in my certs when i was inspected.
Its not ideal it running out but you are not superwoman and just have to do the best you can.

oh my god i feel so sorry for you, ive never heard of that before when i did mine they said they will keep going until everyone passes, we had to mark eachother on it.
i would definately complain. As you said there are 4 others that he failed as well so its his fault not yours.
keep your chin up i am sure it will all come good in the end

Hi guys,
Well i made a complaint against the man who taught the course, and so did 3 or 4 others, he got called for a disiplinary meeting and was basically told that it is not acceptable and that it is his job to ensure everyone passes. And the lovely lady at the council said that if i send them the receipt for the st johns ambulance course that i paid for they will refund me in full. so i got a good result, although this should not have happened in the first place.

But....

A few days ago i bumped into the man that i sent the complaint about, he gave me the most scowling look so he must have known i was one of the ones who complained

yes i agree with scully well done. i didnt know u had to take tests etc now on 1st aid courses do they all do that
